An oversized pallet is a pallet outside the dimensions quoted of 1m x 1.2 m. If as an example you were sending a pack of wood on a pallet, the wood in length was 6ft long, 2 ft wide & 2 ft high you would need to book this as an oversized pallet. The weight limit is the same as a full pallet (1000kg). As the pallet would take up two spaces on the vehicle instead of one it would be charged at double the normal rate.
